Hourly paycheck calculator
Updated for the 2026 tax year
Enter your hourly rate, weekly hours, and overtime, pick your state, and see your take-home pay for any pay schedule. Overtime is paid at time and a half.
How it works
Weekly gross is your rate times regular hours plus 1.5 times your rate for overtime hours. That weekly figure is annualized (52 weeks) and divided into your pay schedule, then federal, FICA, and state withholding are applied exactly as on a salary. Pay frequency matters: the same hourly job withholds slightly differently weekly versus monthly because the federal tables annualize each check.
Frequently asked
How many hours is full time?
The calculator assumes 40 hours a week. Federal overtime rules require time and a half above 40 hours in a workweek for non-exempt employees; some states (California, Alaska, Nevada, Colorado) also require daily overtime.
Does overtime get taxed more?
Not at a higher rate. Overtime raises your gross for the period, and withholding tables annualize that check, so a big overtime week can be withheld as if you earned that much all year. It evens out at filing.
